In-Line Skates By Rita Cook
As more people begin to take to the streets on In-Line skates, manufacturers are feeling
the pressure of building the best skate with the most aggressive results, while still offering comfort. Whether you play Hockey
or just want to have some fun, the in-line skates you choose can make a difference. Below, we have reviewed a few of the best
names in hockey and in-line, see if you agree.
Hockey
CCM RH755 Believed to be the best hockey skate by many who wear them, CCM RH755 offers a close duplication to
the maneuverability of the ice-hockey skate. More than a few of the features on this skate can be credited to this excellence
such as; Surlyn construction of the insole, and the lightweight material. The RH755 also has a great frame and has the magic
to make you fly without crash landing.
Koho IR3000 The IR3000 is a new design, designed especially for the
beginner to intermediate hockey player. Built to last, the trim is durable made of synthetic leather. The internal lining
is breathable and the internal pads are built for protection. The wheels are also made for good performance, speed and durability
with 72mm/85A Koho wheels. A good overall hockey skate, built for endurance.
Roces Montreal Roces offers several
in-line hockey skates. The classic style by design of Freedom with just a touch more, should leave just about any skater satisfied.
The skate is built for quick turning and accuracy. The Montreal is best used for outdoor in-line hockey. It has an internal
reinforcement and ankle protection making it a strong skate. It’s also a fast skate, important when playing hockey out
on the street.
Recreation Rollerblade Edward’s Trooper Rollerblade is the original in-line skate and all their skates have a lot going
for them. Edward’s Trooper is an interesting skate with an asymmetrical cut-away cuff, a medal buckle with a molded
buckle protector, a lace-up liner, aluminum bearing spacer, ABEC-3 Killer Bees bearing, Black Hole 62mm wheels and a stainless
asymmetrical tri-grind plate. Edward’s Trooper is a good sturdy skate built for the aggressive skater, and it looks
good too. You’ll feel good on these skates wherever you wear them.
K-2 Freedom Freedom is a good-looking
skate and a cross between a fitness skate and a racing skate. It offers the “agility of a lower cut boot and the speed
of a longer wheelbase.” The frame of the skate is very stiff, good for a fast, responsive ride and it offers excellent
shock absorption. The boot is a nice fit too. Freedom features Hyper 77.5mm/78A superlight wheels with twin cam ABEC 5 bearings.
These are a fun pair of skates.
Roces ‘62 Impala The ‘62 Impala is an aggressive skate built for
1997 and tweaked to be a cut above the competition. You will find pre-carved grooves in the frames, which makes a difference
when skating outdoors. The ‘62 Impala is said to be “the choice” among vert ramp skaters. The skater will
find an unusual comfort in the special skate liner that is made for top performance and a great fit. There is also an anti-shock
foot bed and special aggro grab strap. It’s a fun skate, it’s a good skate and it looks good on you.
Remember this when in-line blading
-Rotate wheels
every 30 to 50 miles because inside edges wear more rapidly than the outside. -Don’t skate through water and sand
this prolongs the life of the skates bearings. -Lubricate skates bearings with a non-water based oil. -Always wiggle
each wheel to check axle tightness and bearings. -Inspect brake pads regularly for wear and replace as needed.
