Light Opera Works Announces its 2009 Season
Evanston,
IL: Light Opera Works’ 2009 season will begin with Stephen Sondheim’s A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC (June 5 – 14)
on Light Opera Works’ Main Stage, followed by MY FAIR LADY (August 15 – 30). The company will present the
musical C’EST LA VIE (October 4 - November 15) on the Second Stage in the fall and end the season with Gilbert
and Sullivan’s THE PIRATES OF PENZANCE (December 26 – January 3). The Light Opera Works Box Office is located

Story: In THE PIRATES OF PENZANCE, a nurse’s linguistic fluke causes the child
Frederic to be apprenticed to a band of pirates. As the apprenticeship ends, twenty-one year old Fredrick leaves his violent,
but loving pirates to fall in love and wed a Major-General's daughter. Confusion follows as the pirates chase after
their loved apprentice and gather their own Major-General’s daughters to wed on the way.
